A shot from this morning, on Adda river.

A couple of coots with three little chicks.

Thanks for your comments and suggestions.

That baby is so ugly it's cute.  Great interaction.  Nice detail in both subjects.

A fine capture. That is one homely chick, very well captured. I wonder if you can tease out a bit more detail in the adults eye with selective brightening?

Wonderful behavioral image with the comical looking coot chick. I love it, and I also wonder if the adult's eye can be highlighted any further? Regardless, this is an excellent avian image.

Very nice.  Captures the mood and the moment really well.  Having the reeds in the frame on the right adds perspective.

Beautiful photo. I see more coots than any other bird out here in central California but I've never seen a baby before. Fantastic!

Thank you all for the comments and suggestions.
We'll try to work on the red eye.
This was the first time in which we saw such little chicks. The group was composed of two adults and three chicks. Very confident and natural for a long time.

I thought heron chicks were homely, but this little guy takes the cake!  I really like the way this image is composed, and it captures a nice intimate moment between parent and chick.  The exposure is great overall, but if you could squeeze some detail out of the eye, it would be even better.  Very nice.
