Yellow Island Wildflower
by Katie Jones
Yellow Island located in the San Juan Islands in Washington State is one of the most beautiful places to view wildflowers in the spring time. The island is a tiny patch of paradise that has been owned by the Nature Conservancy since the 1980's. A good friend of mine is caretaker of the island (He has the whole place to himself. What a nice gig, huh?). He invited me to the island last month to see the flowers. I spent most of the day on my belly crawling around the trails trying to get shots like this. Pictured here are mostly buttercups and fawn lilies. Enjoy!
