American Goldfinch
by Dennis Plank
Not sure whether this should be here or in Man & Fauna since the perch is decidedly not natural. I discovered several years ago, purely by accident, that juvenile Pine Siskins love to exercise their wings while clinging to a dangling string. This year I decided to add a few to replace one that came down and I used some plastic baling twine because it was handy and durable. We don't have baby Siskins yet, but when things get crowded at the thistle feeders an occasional Goldfinch will land on the string for a short time. I liked the look this one gave me while it was there.

Bird pose is nice, bg is perfect for the bird to pop up.

I just put up our tomato trellis with tomatoes growing up pieces of bailing twine. It does come in handy for gardens and finches. A nice pose and the color of the twine goes well with the other colors of the scene. Well done
