I don't know who he is, but he sure contributed a lot to this image. Thank you! Shot from Zabriskie Point in Death Valley National Park.

Basil..What a beautiful image. While I admire the beautiful folds of the mountain, and fine play of light and shade...I also love the placement of the anonymous photographer in the frame. Wonderful that both of you got to be there.

Nice comp, Basil, and I like how the photog's clothing matches the background folds and colors.

He wore the perfect colors for your shot, and all those folds in the hills point right to him. It's a new cut on an often photographed scene. The light is also wonderful here (morning?)

I agree that the photographer adds to this shot, Basil. I actually find this section of the landscape at ZP fascinating, and I shoot it every time I am there. The light is terrific in this version with the photographer. Well captured.

Excellent image, Basil ! The photographer seems to have dressed for the photo - the tones of his apparel fit so nicely with the landscape ! Superbly composed and lit.

Nicely done, Basil. I like the wide palette of browns and the tog dressed properly for the occasion.

Awesome image, Basil. I'm glad the photographer was not wearing turquoise. Personally, I think everyone should be required to check clothing of any color other than earth-tones, white, black, and red at the entrance to our national parks (just kidding of course, but it's one fascist measure I would support if it were proposed).
There are so many things I like about this image: the way you framed Zabriskie itself, the focal length bringing the formation and photographer into the same plane, and the position and oblique pose of the photographer. Just a splendid shot.
