I always promise myself not to take more shots of this bird (as I have hundreds) but what can you do when they pose so nicely?

Ken Newman, the author of one of the best field guides to Southern Africa, used to refer to this bird as an "ABR."  When asked what he meant, he replied:  "Another bloody roller!"  It seems that when he was leading birding tours, he got very tired of people shouting "Stop the vehicle!  What's that beautiful bird?"  everytime they passed a Lilac-breasted Roller.  But I agree, it's hard not to take images of it.  I have many.  It is just so beautiful,  And you have done it justice with this very nice image.

Ken, this is one of the better LBR pictures I have seen.  I have been looking at your gallery, and I love your work.

Ken, the colors in these birds are indeed beautiful. I can't imagine getting tired of them, and you captured this one expertly. The feather detail in the large version is incredible. Clean blue background that compliments the bird so well too.  devil

The reds and the blues really go well together here.  Good job on the techs.  Nice pose.

Nice clean and sharp image Ken. I am wishing it wasn't quite so tight on bottom, but still a nice image.

Really nice work on the colors, Ken. Don't feel bad about all the shots; I have the same problem with Mountain Bluebirds.
