Red-tail Juvi Flaps Down

Same year-old Red-tail as my last 2 posts, moving to another hunting perch.
I like seeing the habitat, but the background was a little to distracting in this shot, so I used curves to brighten the darks without affect the sky, and then gave the the background just a touch of lens blur.

Canon 7D Mark II; Sigma 150-600 C @ 374 mm.
1/3200 sec. @ f/7.1; ISO 640
from car
Cropped to 52% of full frame

Nice flight shot. Good detail in the face and wings.  Nice look at the talons.  I think your processing worked well as the hawk stands out nicely from the background.

Three nice ones in a row, Wayne.  Clever processing on the bg.  I'll have to try that technique if I can remember it when I need it.  I really like the wingspread in this one.  Looking forward to the landing.

A flight shot with a different angle; I like it. The Curves technique worked well, but there's some possible blur artifacts along the left edge of the larger tree.

Nice work - the bird really POPS. Great pose, detail, and BG.
Well done!

Another nice shot with reasonably good sharpness but the lens blur is noticeable in the detailed image.  Your processing is nice and clean to display at iso 640 with 50% of frame.  What setting are you using for the optical stabilization at higher shutter speeds?

Really nice processing work on this Wayne. I like the wing position in this. Slight bummer he wasn't turning toward you, but they never seem to listen. sad Nice work!
