Oryx

Just got back from a trip to Botswana, our visit to the Central Kalahari proved far less remarkable than normal.
Whilst plains game was around it was in far less numbers thn before in spite of the visit being at the same time of year
.Lions were practically invisible giving creedence to the assertion that they are being killed by farmers surrounding the park, something that gets no publicity as "hunting" is banned in Botswana.
This Oryx is probably very happy that there are less Lions!

Rally nice Ken. Love the light and the great look at the environment. I think a faster shutter speed would have helped, but a strong image as is.

Fantastic pose, light and scene, Ken! I like how you left so much space in front.

Cheers,

Hisham.

Nice action in great light Ken, I like this as posted.   Distressing to hear your observation concerning the lack of game.

Ken: very nice light and composition. Some softness can be seen in the larger version, likely due to the slow shutter speed. Sorry to hear about the possible conflict between farmers and the wildlife. Richard

This one definitely has a classic feel to it, Ken! Great light and colours compliment a well-executed action frame. Love that flying tail! laugh
