My favourite magnolia - some of them now in bloom, others yet to come.

Canon 7D, 100mm macro, 1/125 @ f14, ISO 200.

Spot on gorgeous, Ian! The well controlled whites, the fat pale anthers, the sneaky streak of lavender, the curves—all more than sufficient. There is a small streak of stain on the bottom at about 7 o'clock, an easy cloning job. Not a deal breaker at all, just a teensy nit.devil

Great macro image.  I like that you were able to keep contrast on the white petals.  I agree with Phil about the stain..

Lovely magnolia, Ian. I like petal covering the center. Adds cuteness to the image. Our star magnolia got killed by the weather. It bloomed nicely for about a day, and then it went down to 18 degrees two nights in a row, and then it snowed, and that was that.

Beautiful close up of this Magnolia, Ian!  I love the curving petals and the streak of lavender.
