Light into the Valley

Wanting to get a higher perspective over the valley, I found a two-track towards the edge of the mesa and hiked a mile to a point overlooking the monuments.  After the wide angle shots at sunrise, the 70-200 was attached to focus on the morning sunlight hitting the towers.

I like this a lot, Doug, beautiful early morning light highlighting the buttes and spires.

The magenta tones and sweet light in the right places are most appealing.

Nice light and view! I really like your processing here, looks very sweet. The large version is great, with the scattered trees giving a much needed sense of scale. It makes the scene even more impressive!

Thank you for your comments.  I did not know if the magenta was too much.  I am usually conservative in my image processing.

Beautiful sweeping image with a lot of depth and visual interest. Processing looks spot-on for my tastes. Well done!

I have always admired your work Doug, but I must say I think this is one of your best! Love the light on the monuments from this elevated view. 5 Stars for sure.
