Nikon D70, Sigma 50mm macro, 1/30 f16, iso 200, RAW, tripod.

Post processing : contrast, saturation, USM, huge crop

This is a 1:1 crop so the image is not very sharp :-\ , but I think that it is an interesting view.

I toke the photo in summer 2004. This year I'm going to take a lot more photos of this fascinating plant, I'd like to photograph its life cycle and some "predation" scenes. Other than that, I'll search the other carnivorous plants that live in Italy, Pinguicola and Utricularia.

BTW, You can read my in-depth article about this plant here:

I can see why you wish to revisit this subject Juza - It reminds me of the Sundews we have here in the States. I have a love/hate relationship with drops, when they are in focus they are awesome and when they OOF you can get some strange highlights, but you handled that very well. Love the warm colors and the abstract presentation.

I think it's pretty sharp, especially for a major crop! I'll be anxious to see more shots of these interesting plants.

Emanuele,

Excellent!!! At 1:1 I think you have done a marvelous job with the details and DOF. The background is great, really allows those tentacles to show nicely. :toast:

Nice shot Juza,

Very interesting image.

really like the abstract approach. It's a little soft, but not enough to make me really complain about it. Your cropping and lighting are strong so that helps out.
