Repost : Flames of Freedom

With a 9 to 5 job, it's pretty impossible to do anything like investing a good chunk of time exploring the wilderness and immerse myself in the image making process. Often the separation lasts weeks, and I don't even get the chance to see the sky change color at twilight. On days when I get completely bogged down and reach the precipice of frustration, I throw caution to the wind and head out in reckless abandon. I release all of my frustration and completely immerse myself in the world that I'm trying to photograph. This image is a product of such an evening.

Would love to get your thoughts on it.

Beautiful tones.  The horizon appears endless.  Well done.

Very nice! Gorgeous color palette. Comp works well with leading line cracks pulling me into the frame.

Nice composition with the leading lines.  I wonder if you could have moved left and put the sun at the intersection of the rocks.  Just a thought, it's great as is.

Well done, Sairam. I love the mood. The color looks very nice, and natural. One suggestion, though: You migh consider brining down the deepest blacks just a bit since the deep shadows look a little flat. That's minor, though; this is a fine image.

Very nice image. I really like your foreground interest. I like the way it blends with the water and the sky.

Here's a repost with some changes. I thought the original I posted here was too warm and a bit too dark. I've reduced the warmth a bit here, and brightened up the image in general. What do you guys think?

Sairam, Nice work on the repost. It looks great and I really like the feel it has over the original post. Very nice!

Oh I hear you about the full time job. Frustration to the max! But experiences like this are the best to reset the mind again, that's for sure.

I think I would like your repost with a bit more warmth. I really like the feeling you captured here, very nice and calming.

Sairam,

Beautiful coastal sunset image.  Looking at the original I didn't really consider it too warm, but your repost kinda points that out.  I like the repost very much, nice job with that.

I hear ya on the "precipice of frustration."  I think I'm there now. I need to get out!
