Long-billed curlew + repost

Still going through my archives from last spring since I haven't been out too much this year. Long-billed curlews breed in open lands in northern Utah and I was lucky to find a spot where a few of them had nests. This curlew was feeding close to her nest late one evening after a rainshower giving me several photo ops.

840mm, 1/200s@F13, ISO800. Full frame.

Larger version also presented. Thanks for looking.

Lovely light and a great pose, Govind.  I like the habitat aspects and the dof, but I think it might be worthwhile to add a bit of extra blur to the oof area at the top-it has a bokeh that's a bit unnerving to my eye.

Govind: you've captured a very nice pose of the curlew in soft, warm light. My only suggestion would be to consider darkening and blurring the background just a bit. Fine otherwise. Richard

Thanks for the feedback so far. Here's a version with the background blurred a little. Interested to know if this takes care of the issue.

Hi Govind, excellent lighting and detail in the plumage here.  The background doesn't bother me at all, it's a touch centered in the frame for my taste, I would have tried to compose it a bit further left in the frame but not much.  On the repost it looks to me like you have a color cast that isn't in the original posting.  A sweet shot of this uncommon species. devil

Nice light on this Govind. I am also not bothered by the BG. I agree with Nate about maybe placing the bird a bit more left, but doesn't look like you have much room left to do that unless this is a crop and you have more for hte right side of the frame.
