Frog a Courtin

Spring sprang last week with a couple of days of temperatures in the low 60s.  That got the wood frogs singing loudly, so today I went to a local wildlife refuge to see about some pictures.  It seems that the wood frogs may be done, but the Spring Peepers were singing loudly.  By lying quietly beside an ephemeral woodland pond, I was able to get some close up looks at the Spring Peepers, including this one.  (7D2, 180mm macro, 1/200s, f/8, iso 1600)

Yes, there's a bit of a size change from a Grizzly, as this guy is less than an inch tall.

Excellent, Mark. I like the perspective, pose, and light.

Mark: I really like the pose of the frog and how the light makes the frog appear to glow. The vegetation on the left makes a nice diagonal and leading line. My only minor suggestion would be to clone the very brilght circle on the left edge of the frame. Richard

Okay, maybe not as sexy as a griz, but I think  you made an excellent capture.  I especially like the quality of light, coming at an angle to emphasize the translucent nature of his body.  You composed this optimally, making great use of the reeds many diagonals leading the eye to the frog.  Excellent posting!
