Northern Pintails

Another from Nisqually last week.  This one was taken from the boardwalk, so again the angle is steeper than I would really like, but it did give me some decent separation.  The tail of the near duck looks a little odd, but I went back through the layers in my processing and it's just mud, not a processing artifact.

7D2, Sigma 150-600 C @ 484 mm, Wimberley sideckick and Arca Swiss Z1 Monoball on Gitzo 3441 legs, f/8, 1/2000, iso 800, aperture priority, pattern metering.  Processed in LR5 & CS6.  Cropped to 13.3 MP before resizing.  I cloned over a patch of distracting debris.  Taken at 10:35 AM on February 25th at Nisqually NWR.

Your comments and criticisms are welcomed and appreciated.

Thanks,

Very nice, Dennis. Good to get both in focus and exposure look very good. A slightly lower angle may enhance this, but sweet image as it is.

Good exposure, nice catch light, and both in focus, or in the zone of perceived focus, and both head positions are good.  Another nice one, Dennis.

Some of my favorite ducks Dennis. Love the rich browns, greys and blacks.

I like the earthy tones in this one Dennis. Both ducks are sharp. I might move them down in the frame a little lower but that's a minor observation. Nicely done!
