Facing the sun

Great Egret facing into the sun with a little wind at it's back. I was pretty close and decided to do a head and shoulders shot instead of trying to fit the bird into a full frame.  The background is dune grass and has a dappled look because the sun was a little high at this point.  Not sure how I like the background. I stopped down a little to gain a bit more DOF.  Not sure that was such a good idea. Max aperture for the Tamaron is 6.3. Interested in any thoughts you may have.

7D2, Tamaron 150 - 600 @ 600, ISO 500, 1/3200 @ f9.

Excellent detail in the egret, Jerry.  I love the eye.  The bg works fine for me.

Looks good to me Jerry, I like the bg and I think your choice of depth of field worked well rendering the background out of focus but getting all of the bird sharp.  devil
