My Backyard!

Well not really. But just a few short minutes from my home. Was out testing some lenses and saw this behind me just before the light was gone. Shot this with my old 80-400 that I had not used in years because I thought it didn't focus right. Nice to know it's capable, at least sometimes. Off to Death Valley in a couple of hours.

D800
80-400

Thanks
Chris

That is not a bad backyard at all! The fence is not the world's most beautiful fence, but the trees and the gentle hills look great, especially in this amazing light. Enjoy DV, quite a different world from this!

Great light and layering. Very nice! I think another nice option would be a panoramic format consisting only of the top 60% (but of course from a vantage point that avoids the foreground bush intruding into the background).

I love the peaceful mood of this scene, Chris. Lots to enjoy here from front to back with the FG bushes, then the gentle rolling hills and that sublime warm light in the BG. Beautifully done.

Lovely, pastoral spring scene from California. The large view is really fine, with such nice light on those back hills and the flowering tree to anchor the foreground. Congrats on the weekly pick. Well-deserved.
