Another one from the archives.  This was from a Ridgefield trip a year or so ago.

7D2, 500mm f4 ISL + 1.4TC, beanbag on truck window, f/8, 1/1600, iso 500, manual exposure.  Processed in LR5 & CS6.  I cloned out some distracting vegetation in the vicinity of the beak.  Other than that, I didn't do much to this one.  Full frame.  Taken at 8:46 AM on December 31st, 2014 at Ridgefield NWR.

Comments and criticisms are welcome and appreciated.

Thanks for looking,

Really nice Dennis, the feather detail is amazing in the large image. Great techs and I looked and saw no evidence of any cloning. Nice work!  devil  Is that frost on his back?

Crisp, clean and simple.  Very nice. Looks like he's cold.

Looks like the heron was preening before you took this image, Dennis. Excellent details in the plumage and great eye contact. Techs look spot on and the composition is pleasing. I find the OOF tree (?) slightly distracting, maybe worth another round of cloning.
