Prairie Sunrise
by Dennis Plank
A few years ago I went out to our local nature preserve for a fairly regular walk and decided to see if I could get some decent sunrise images. I had the good luck to have a decent sunrise and a nice pool of fog in the middle distance. I wish this had been a few weeks later when the prairie was at it's peak bloom, but it was still a magical experience.
5D3, 70-200 f/4 L @ 70 mm, tripod, f/20, 1/250, iso 500, aperture priority, pattern metering, -1/3 EV. Processed in LR5 & CS6. A slight horizontal crop for composition and cropped from top and bottom for the pano. I brightened the foreground quite a bit. Taken at Glacial Heritage County Preserve at 6:27 AM on April 23, 2013.
Comments and criticisms are always appreciated.
Thanks,

3 commentsThat layer of fog is ideal. I like how you lightened the foreground slightly and have the trees placed on the lefthand side of the scene..................................Jim
