Eastern Goldfinch, state bird of NJ and Iowa, on purple loosestrife, Newport Wetlands, Mill Creek MetroParks, Youngstown, oh. Had to go back to my film for something to meet the challenge, so excuse the grainy image. Techs long gone, but probably Nikon F5 and 80-400 zoom. crying

The colors here are very eye catching, Scott, with the bright gold male on the strongly purple loosestrife against the dark green background.  There's also a subtle touch of irony with a "state bird" sitting on an invasive species.  To my eyes, the greens seem a bit oversaturated, but getting the colors right in a scan is a huge challenge.  This is a fine image that's well worth scanning.

Good to show that the subject doesn't have to large in the frame to make a great picture.  Superb combination of colors.

Beautiful image, Scott, even if the flower is a nasty invasive.  It sure makes for a colorful presentation.  Beautiful image.
