The large version is a real treat with the range of tones and textures, Harley. I find the graceful curved lines of the vegetation particularly striking in this image and this works beautifully as a B&W.

The curves here are wonderful, Harley. There's a small bit of stick in the lowest large open area on the right edge that tends to grab my eye. The tones and their separation look spot-on to me. This looks great.

The large version is a must-see.

Really sweet, Harley.  I love this one. The graceful curves and textures are perfect.  Very artistic and a beautiful b/w. In the large, which is a must see, there are a couple of brighter pebbles top left that'd I'd entertain cloning.  Super picky and just fine as is.

Harley, This is a very interesting image to look at and you did an excellent job with the comp and b&w conversion. It is not overly appealing to me, and it doesn't have to be, but it is so interesting to look at and that makes it work very well. I like the details and textures that show up so nice in the larger version. Good work capturing some of the feel of Death Valley.

Really excellent. Those twisted, curving branches are fantastic. B&W processing looks great. No nits.

These sagebrush "roots" are something else. They're so photogenic for these type of abstracts. This may be one of  your recent best. It has that look we grew to love from the old masters. Great tonal range and detail. There are several compositions within this one. My favorite consists of the right 2/3 of the image that includes all of the base into the dark area. That would be a more floral design. Actually that V shape up top has also full of potential. For some reason I like the smaller version more than the larger. I think it may be due to the presence of a frame. Nice going.

Harley, excellent little close-up shot here. The bright areas seem a bit light on my monitor, but then my aging eyes have a way of seeing things different at times. Another fine scene from the DVNP area.......laugh

I don't know if it looks like that in a really large version, but what I see here on my screen looks a bit grainy, and I think that adds a lot to this already very fine image. A bit of a metaphor for life maybe, things going in all kind of directions with lots of twists and all.

Hi Harley,

This image is a wonderful study in lines and tones. I really enjoy your vision on this image, and the larger version is a must see to appreciate the intricacies of this beautiful scene. The gnarled structures is very well placed in this frame, and fine work.

Harley, this is a fine look at these intertwined, twisting stems.  You've got a great range of tones and an interesting sense of movement.
