At dawn the red little rose was frozen but the first sunbeam ran to save it.

Love the composition, the detail, and lighting on the rose. Its hard to capture an unusual flower event. This has the great lighting as well as the frost. Nice!

Gigi: A unique and beautiful rendition of this little beauty. The frost is the icing on a very fine cake. Bravo! >=))>

I love the details of the frost, and the lines of the bloom and leaves are excellent. Very interesting photo.

Exquisite, Gigi. I am curious as to how/where you shot this. You indicated it was shot "In the greenhouse near home." Is this some type of outdoor greenhouse? Or was this cut and brought into the greenhouse while still covered with dew? Just curious. Regardless, it's a truly gorgeous image.

Scott Janz.
In the greenhouse many flowerpots of roses are outside. I didn't touch the pot for preserving the frost. Back lit at dawn the other pots create long shadows so I had the chance of having a strong shadow behind the red rose that was very bright in the sun. I exposed Spot on the highest light and the over exposed shadow became black.
Thanks Scott for your interest and comment.

Hi Gigi, an absolutely wonderful shot - great composition / excellent lighting! Have been really busy lately (house move) so nearly 'missed' this and that would have been a real shame!
Cheers, Mark
