Foggy Midday Stalking

Foggy Midday Stalking was a side trip during the Operation Migration coverage in south Georgia. Looking down on subject from a higher advantage point than I would have preferred but I liked the mood of the fog and the water. Hand held and shot vertical, cropped to 80% of full frame.

Nice detail, particularly in the neck and head, Mike.  It almost looks like there's some color noise in the body, but at iso 160 that shouldn't happen unless you did a lot of adjustments.  Nice image.

Nice image showing the habitat Mike. The fog sets a nice mood and the raised foot adds too.

That high vantage point really worked out well with this atmosphere. It looks like the fog was all behind the bird!
The brightness of the bird against the smooth, dark background makes a striking image.

One of those images that makes you wonder what you're looking at. Looks almost like the egret is standing in a fish tank. I like it very much, Mike - pleasant overall composition ! devil, Hans
