Because of our warm climate northern flowers like crocus and tulips have stymied my master gardener. Not to be deterred though, Chrissy bought some in decorative vases/pots and brought them home this week. I put this little beauty in the window for back light and then tossed a little fill flash for good measure. I do have some comps without the leaf but I liked its addition to the frame. All comments welcome.>=))>

Nice composition and choice of focal plain, Bill.  The leaf works for me.

I agree with Dennis's comments except the leaf does not work for me.

What's not to like about the flower? Good complementary colors and focus where it needs to be. The leaf is  weak point, admittedly, but it is not particularly obtrusive.cool

Well done, Bill. Love the look of the flower due to the comp, excellent backlighting, and contrasting colors. Interesting that you like and included the leaf in the frame. I probably would not include it, but that's obviously just a matter of personal choice. crying

The leaf, being so blurry, doesn't work for me.  You might brighten up the flower, so the backlighting looks like it's shining through the flower more.  But, definitely, a beautifully colored, sharp flower!

With it being OOF, I am not sure that the leaf works for me.  The color does, and the lighting is excellent.  I really like it overall and I am looking forward to seeing comps without the leaf.  Glad that you got some tulips to shoot.
