Letting go #1

Yesterday was another day to practice catching water dripping from the icicles hanging off my roof.  (The last time I could do this was Jan. 2011.)  I've opened up this up considerably in processing, but it still seems dark to me.  Your thoughts?  (7D2, 180mm macro, 1/3200s, f/16, iso 800, tripod)

This does not look too dark to me, looks pretty good! Another very nice icicle (= nicicle??) photo, especially the little one is a nice detail.

This seems more simple (fewer star bursts) than the first image.  I don't think it is too dark.  I find the dark BG band a little distracting compared to the first image with the uniform but darker BG.  That said, I prefer the lighter BG.  A nice image overall.

Outstanding again, Mark. This one is cleaner due to the lower iso, and I like the clear detail in the icicle and the more district sunstars, but the other is more dazzling overall. I'd be happy with either, but for a print, I prefer this one only because it is cleaner.

Not too dark, but just about right. I could do without all the sun stars, if they were post process. If you came by them via the sun, love 'em!sad

Looks good to me, Mark.  A brighter bg would have made it look brighter, but this lets all the detail show.  Excellent work.

Yes Mark ..I was looking at the larger version of the image and that tells the story of the fine detail. Not easy to freeze that drop falling off. Love it ..

Another great capture of the falling drops, Mark!  I don't think it's too dark.  The sunstars in this one are beautiful.
