This is a bizarre one. It is the inside plies from a tractor tire out in Death Valley. I stopped for lunch along a dirt road and was walking around eating a sandwich and saw this flower-like pattern on the inside of this huge half tire.

devil.....Harley, I could tell at first glance this had a familiar look to it, and your comment confirmed it. I think the weave or tread pattern was the tip off for me. However, the overall circular rose or flower pattern is very unique and makes it a good "oddity" subject in the end........laugh

An abandoned tire is never a pretty sight, but at least this one certainly gave a nice pattern for you to capture. Good choice going for b+w.

You can also see this as an eye, an old person's eye, with the bridge of the nose at the llc. What strikes me most about it is that it mimics a wood block ink print of a bygone area. It has all of the appeal of the type of art where the tonal edge are abrupt but widespread giving a pleasing affect. Nice job, Harley.
It looks nothing like a tire but anyone who's had a flat immediately recognizes this form.

An excellent catch, Harley, and very well presented.  All kinds of cool patterns here.
