Brown Bear

This is another image I made in the wild park "Hochwildschutzpark Hunsrück" which is located close to my home.

Since many years they have this brown bear and this image is already from a few years ago, at a time were this guy was very playful. In summer he liked to get into the water and play with whatever he found. In this case it was a piece of branch.

In the meantime also this guy got of course older and unfortunately he is not so playful as some years ago ...

I love the expression on his face - the eye does it, an intense stare, just like a person (or cat or dog) very concentrated on the task at hand. It may be that only carnivores, besides primates, are capable of being so expressive with their faces?
