At the Rodeo

The National Western Stock Show holds a rodeo during its stay in Denver. Here's a photo of one of the bull riders. I like the intensity of the crowd in the photo as well as the action. Why a 150 lb. cowboy would  climb on the back of a 1200-1800 lb. bull will always remain a mystery to me, but I love to watch it. Taken with a D4, 70-200 at 200, f/5, 1/400 and ISO 8000. C & C welcome. Richard

Richard, a stunning action shot of this wild bull ride. I too find the risk a bit fierce even for me in my earlier years. I would do some crazy things, including drag racing for 20+ years, but trying to hang on to something this fierce is well out of my wheelhouse.

Although the rider and the crowd is a big part of the scene, with the bull of course, it's the intensity in the "bulls-eye" that makes the scene for me....... very well done.....laugh

Richard,
this is a very cool shot.  It is remarkable at ISO8000.  Love the expressions of the crowd, not the mention the flapping chaps.  You captured the bull with all four legs off the ground, which added to the intensity.
