One of the many "new" male Lions in the Lagoon area on the Northern section of the Kwando concession, Botswana.
Whilst it is nice to see their presence is causing the Wild Dog population to keep a lower profile.

My favorite kind of shot - animal in habitat.  Well seen.

Ken,

this is good image of how to integrate the habit nicely in a photo. The depth of filed you have chosen creates a good balance between the focus on the lion and the habitat. I like as well the grennery in the image, which is usually only seen after the rain.

Technically great, good focus on the main subject and well exposured.

Gorgeous light. The lion stands out well from the pleasing environment. Very well done.

He suggests he is in charge!  Great view of his eye and striding form.  No nits, but if anything a tiny sliver off bottom?

Whew! This is a looker, Ken--both the lion and the image itself. Beautifully photographed scene. I could buy into Lon's suggestion for a sliver off the bottom, but wouldn't have come up with that without reading it. Really a nearly perfect shot IMO.
