Just a small section of a piece of flagging stone from the local landscape supply folk.  I liked the way the low angle light brought out the textures and it reminded me of a desert landscape.

5D3, 180mm f3.5 macro, tripod and cable release, f/16, 1/15, iso 200, aperture priority, pattern metering.  Processed in LR5 & CS6.  Full frame.  Taken January 1st at 9:33 AM.

Your comments and criticisms are always appreciated.

Thanks,

Dennis, the low angle light does a good job of showing off the textures here.  The bits of frost scattered around work well as added interest.  Based on the smaller version, I was about to comment that some added contrast might be good, but the larger version belies that comment. cool  It really pops.

Interesting, Dennis. One of those rare images that, if there was no description, you really don't know what it is or the size. It certainly looks like it could be an aerial view of a large landscape vs. a small section of stone. The partial sunlight adds to the illusion of a landscape.

Our wonderful winter weather has you really thinking outside the box.  The light on this is equally wonderful.

Excellent textures, especially the frost popping here and there. The large image is a must see to get the full flavor.cool
