Northern Arizona had a week of snow, 30" here in Flagstaff, so I went to the Canyon on Friday to catch the evening light as the storm departed.

Doug,
Fantastic image. I like everything about it.. the mix of cool and warm tones, the dramatic spotlighting. Processing looks great as well. Excellent work!

That is some really interesting light Doug. I wouldn't change too much except for maybe getting a little more separation in the shadow areas in the canyon.

The atmospherics and the light is simply stunning as is the combination of warm and cool colors, Doug. Excellent work.

That's quite the burst of sunlight, Doug.  The extra shadow detail seen in the larger version makes this a wonderful view, well worth hanging large.

Doug,

Timing is eveything, and you've got this fantastic moment just beautifully.  Awesome job handling the light and dynamic range here. Plenty of detail and interest in the rest of the canyon and snow-capped peaks, but the staff of light steals the show.  I also love the light hitting a few of the misty clouds as well.

Hard to think of any nits or suggestions... I can't.

This is really dramatic, Doug. You nailed the timing just right. The light is just as sweet as it can get. Nicely done!

Pretty spectacular light, the dark left part vs the sunlit right part works great! Well done.

Wow, what a lightshow! This is all about the right moment capturing something so special and transient.
