"What do you think I'm doing? I'm recharging my batteries!"

Every garden needs a cat. They are very decorative.

Thanks for looking! C & C are most welcome.

And YOU will lower your gaze before I do !!!  enlightened  Gorgeous, the "soft" B&W works well, in my view.

Looks like a well fed cat, Phil.  B&W works well here, and I like all the lines leading to the cat. Nice one!

Phil,

this cat really looks very decorative indeed. I like the black & white you have choosen particulary because it seems to let the eyes stand out very nicely. Also the overall setup is very pleasing.

Technically well done, great detail in the fur of the cat, but also the exposure looks fine.

Looks like the cat is pretty sure the garden belongs to it, Phil.  Nice rustic touches in the garden and the cat is tack sharp.  You have plenty of neat textures to support the choice of B&W.

Hi Phil,

You always comment on my images and appreciate your critiques immensely.  So this is my 2000th comment.  This image is well suited for black and white with lots of texture and range of tones. The subject is placed well in the frame and looks very interested in what you are doing.  Well done indeeddevil....................Jim

Hi Phil,

Nicely done. While it's always tough to assess the decision of going the B&W conversion route without seeing the full colour version, I think this one works well in an absolute sense. The only aspect of this shot that I wonder about (in the context of thinking an alternate approach might possibly have been better) is how far you stopped down. For my taste the DoF extends a little too far into the background and takes away a little from the cat being the instantly recognizable subject. In particular, I find that the vegetation on the left side (right up to the ULC) to be a bit of an eye-puller. I DO like the dark leading line that terminates at the head of the cat, but I think that would work even if thrown more out of focus.

Thanks for sharing this one...cheers...
