Thanks for all the comments and suggestions. Have burned down the bright corners, cropped, increased the yellow sat slightly and removed a green color cast I noticed.

Dave, I really like this image! The combination of fall colors and falling snow works wonderfully. Kind of has an impressionistic look and feel that is very nice. So yes, it works great!  It is very minor but maybe darkening the small white branches in the very lower right corner might make it even better than it already is. They kind of draw my eye a bit after looking for awhile but certainly not a big deal. Beautiful work on this. devil

Yes, this most certainly works! Lovely portrait of the transition of two seasons. Especially in the large version, the yellow trees really stand out against the more blurry background (or more precisely, the more impressionistic background as Nick rightfully mentioned), which is very sweet.

Some truly magical conditions you've got there Dave. I love almost everything about it but might burn down some of the white branches on the lower right corner as it takes my eye away from the rest of the frame.

Nicely abstract and a good combination of color and testure.  Perhaps some vignetting to focus more attention on the aspen?

These conditions are really nice. I think you did a fine job capturing the subdued mood of a snowy day. I agree about burning the lower right corner just a bit. You could also do burn-not much-of the dark areas so that that aspens pop a little more. You might also consider a crop from the top down to the lower end of the red bark on the right-most pine in order to bring the aspens more 'front-and-center'. It's still a nice image without the crop, though.

I also like this a lot, Dave. As Nick commented, the snow gives this a nice impressionistic look. Excellent capture of the conditions.

Sweet stuff here, Dave. You nailed this baby with the repost IMO. The faster SS to freeze the falling snow works beautifully with the colorful autumn leaves; very impressionistic.

What a great snow storm image.  I like the abstract feel. The tightened crop is much better for me and brings the focus to the aspen.  Beauty.

This is outstanding; the chosen shutter speed to stop the motion of the snow is just right giving your image a beautiful impressionistic feel.  The delicate colors are wonderful as well. The cropped repost is spot on.  Fantastic work.

Very creative work, excellently executed. Looking at all the snow flakes in the big version is fascinating. I am feeling empathic for the three aspens  - they look cold enlightened

The falling snow creates a very painterly effect here, Dave.  The original post with it muted color palette and lack of a sharp subject gets reminds me of impressionist paintings.  The repost has much more pop in the yellows, which makes the yellow trees the main subject and lets them stand out nicely.  The two looks are very different, but I like them both.

Dave,

This is fantastic!  (Vance already used the word "outstanding...")  I absolutely love this!  I too was thinking top crop and the repost makes this even better.  Although honestly, I think you have several outstanding alternatives buried inside the full frame.

Not sure what your green color cast was like, but you might try experimenting pulling down on the cyan a little bit; the greenery would be a little more green, but not like a color cast.  Otherwise, the colors are beautiful, natural and you've handled this very well.

Hello Dave

This is very much my sort of shot.  A sort of lighthanded organised chaos with an engaging mix of colours all mixed up with monochromatic snow flakes.  Very nice.
