This is what remains of the left side portion of the old Sonora Aggregates plant (1980's image is here).

I liked the patterns of the old beams and the long-disconnected pipes. I also liked this one in B&W.

Nikon D-7100
Nikkor DX 16-85mm
Converted to B&W using a B&W adjustment layer in CS6
TK's Luminosity masks

Please see the large version. Thanks!

Your thoughts are always appreciated. cool

Nice antique construction abstract. Good combo of shapes, lines and tones.  This one also has a lot of crops within it to further isolate shapes.

Love the design and line, the shapes and tones, and the remarkable sense of decay, a sadness of days long gone, of someone's dream that provided jobs and provided for numerous families in its day.  Your choise of b/w is perfect.  A fantastic image, Preston, that is right up there with Sexton's work in my opinion.

A perfect subject for b/w! A wonderful range of textures and shades. This is a perfect example of the power to evoke found in black and white.devildevil

A very engaging still life (death) as is the case for much of American manufacturing in the West.  Nice tonal qualities.
