Mike,

as usual it will be a matter of personal taste. I am fine with both version altough the second one appears to be a bit more vivid.

Hello Mike, I can only echo what Carl-Uwe has written... Although I normally tend to like images a little darker, I guess in this particular case the repost seems to work (even) better.. Cheers, Hans

Nice job with the fill flash here Mike, I am on my laptop so judging between the 2 is difficult.  I like the bg a lot in this but I'm not as fond of the cut off perch so it it's a feeder shot I would try to find a perch that's not cut off like this. devil

What Caye-Uwe said: it's a matter of taste. Nice shot either way.

I prefer the second less saturated and lighter version.

To me, it depends on the mood you're trying to convey, Mike.  The darker/more saturated version has a darker mood for me and doesn't seem to fit the "friendly" description in the title, but I could see it working very well with a different title or in a particular application.  The lighter version is more "friendly" and you might even be able to lighten it a bit more.

Mike, I am leaning toward the first post but both are really sweet images. Like others have said, it is very subjective.  Well done!  devil
