The Japanese Garden in Portland was closed for renovations during my trip up north in November. But the Butchart Gardens still had lots of color.
Thanks
Chris

"moderate and small bubbling" bokeh for this so well composed and realized red-on red composition.
Really fine.
All the best,
Sandro

I like the creativity in this image quite a bit. The smaller version has some haloing but it's not present in the larger one so I would like at the larger one. This looks like something from a dream sequence, at least the way film makers like to portray dreams. I particularly like those small white circles scattered throughout. My eye is drawn to them in a positive way. Not a very common nor expected image these days. Great job for thinking out of the box.

Chris,
Wow! Talk about one stepping out of the box! How did you ever invision this? Someone mentioned the "red on red," which is carried off beautifully here. The contasts, the bubbles and even the detail in the leaves up front are all amazing!
Would love to learn more about your technique and vision. Please don't tell me it was an oooops....
I love this Chris. Nothing to suggest different, especially because it is so unique and so there are no rules or guidelines to follow!
Happy New Year!

Hi Chris Love to start the new year commenting on such a creative work. The red on red, and the bubbling bokah against the detailed needles all work in wonderful harmony

Chris, Creative... and very nice too! Great idea shooting this one. The colors are wonderful but most of all it is your composition and use of selective focus that makes this so appealing to me. I love how I'm drawn right in to the center of the image. Very cool work! Nick
