Finally an Icelandic name that is easy to pronounce as well as very translatable to English.  Literally, Land of the Gods and the name is quite appropriate.  The scenery was Hawaii meets British Columbia.  Serrated green cliff topped by the glacial ice cap of Myrdaljokull. The Krossa River threads its way through the valley below.  The area is near Thorsmork.

D810, 24-120mm, ISO 200, f11, 1/180 sec.  Single exposure

What a fabulous view and all topped off with that drama laden sky. As you mentioned the name is more than appropriate for this scene. I also like the interplay of light and shadow throughout this image. Beautiful work, Harry.

Beautiful view and a great Icelandic sky.  I can easily see your references to Hawaii and BC.  But it will never get that warm there unless you get too close to flowing lava.  I never get tired of your Icelandic panoramas.

Harry,
Wow, that's some dramatic topography. Nice image. If it were mine I might crop a bit from the bottom of the image to de-emphasize the area in the LRHC.

Haha, yes those names in Iceland are amazing. My favorite is still Hallbjarnarstaðakambur, who thinks that is a convenient name??? Love the gradient from green to white in your pic, looks really nice. I may try to burn the foreground a little, but I am not sure that would look better actually. And this looks really nice as is anyway, so I'll stop nitpicking!

Incredible landscape. I like the patches of light and how the fresh green gradually fades into the blue mountains, creating a great sense of depth. The clouds in the distance look menacing. Great detail throughout.

This is fabulous, Harry.  No matter how different the landscape is, your images tend to have a consistent aesthetic or style.  I like it!  I do find myself wondering whether you lived in Iceland for a year to get so many great images from that country.

Thanks Marylynne.  I wish! But remember,  it never got really dark so that allowed me to squeeze a lot in!

Land of the Gods, indeed.  Love the greens, and the snow capped mountains and clouds bring it all together; seems as though I could walk down into that valley.  Well done.

Harry,

A grand view and landscape indeed!   Love the name - so appropriate. Love the strong, but dappled light throughout.  And even though it's a small component, I also like the patch of blue sky up top.  Beautiful alpine landscape.

Hard to find anything to be critical about here.  Although is it me, or is this slightly over sharpened? mostly I think in the foreground rock? no biggie though

Amazing depth to this image, Harry. Almost like it is a 3D rendering in a 2 dimensional media.  Love it.  Merry Christmas to you and Keep these Iceland images coming. Awesome.
