This is from a trip in October to Trout Lake Washington.  Fall color in the Northwest was pretty poor this year but the sunrise was pretty nice.

ISO 100, 16-35 at 35, f/16, 2 seconds

Comments always welcome.

I'm guessing that is Mt. Adams, Steve.  Looks like some really nice early light.  The large view has great mountain detail.  Super sky.

The sky is one sight to behold. The perfect light for a snow covered peak! Perhaps you could crop away that narrow bright band at the bottom - a meadow I assume. Border patrol as Lon Overacker calls it. enlightened

Superb mountain light and detail in this image, Steve. I also noticed the bits of meadow on the bottom edge. Just enough there to be a distraction but not enough to be worth keeping in my opinion so a slight crop would be an improvement. I like the dip in the near ridge that frames the mountain.

I find the light stripe at the bottom distracting, but other than that this is some sweet light you captured! Great!

Gorgeous sunrise colors, Steve, seems the fg could use a little pop though.

Steve,

Gorgeous alpen-glow on the peak! Oh, and the sky ain't bad either!  And even though it wasn't the best for fall color in the trees, at least there's some variet of color and having those trees at the base of the image really makes this a grand landscape.

I would agree with other comments about shaving a little off the bottom to remove the meadow grass.

Thanks for posting!

Lon

You may have had poor fall color, but that sky and the color on the peak more than make up for it, Steve. My only suggestion would be the already mentioned small crop from the bottom. Wonderful image.

Thank you everyone for your comments!  Here's a new version with the bottom edged shaved off to eliminate the grass (border control is a great term for this) and a slight punch to the foreground trees.

Steve,
Very pretty image. You captured some sweet light. I also prefer the cropped version. Only suggestion is that I see what may be a GND line in the evergreens on the ridge on the left. I would try to dodge this area to smooth out the transition.
