After the rain

Following a day of rain in the valley and snow up high, the bright morning sun and scattered clouds make a fine setting for a fall exploration in Montana's Paradise Valley.  This is a view along the the Old Yellowstone Trail towards the high peaks in the Tom Miner basin.  While I've already posted most of my best for the year, there are a few that I really like that I haven't posted, so you'll get to see those over the next two weeks.  (5D3, 70-200 f2.8 @ 120mm, 1/125, f/11, iso 400, tripod)

Hey Mark,
Simply a wonderful scene of a beautiful location, also one of my favorite Seaver Photos . . .  laugh

Mark,

what I like about this image is that it really gives you a nice illusion of the big open areas you have in USA. I also like how the road guides the viewer to the background mountains. A fine image for me.

Mark, I really like the placement of the road starting for us in the LRHC. Seems to work well in leading us in toward the amazing backdrop in the distance. I love these buck & rail fences as pure western style living for my taste. The detailed view is stunning and so inviting, I wish I was there right now, well maybe if the snow is not too deep......sad

This has nice inviting warm colors that lead you right into the image.  The larger view is less saturated and I almost prefer the smaller view because of it.   I see this as fall quitessential Montana ranch country.  It is a spectacular view.

Very nice, Mark.  the road and fences make great leading lines and the layered mountains make for a very nice image.

This is really good, Mark. Very photogenic scene with the attractive fence and dirt road leading to the far mountains. Nice color in the field contrasting with the blue sky, and the low clouds are attractive as well. I like the balanced comp as well. devil

Another well balanced composition, Mark, with plenty to interest, from the gravel road foreground to the great fence works (snow fencing?) and loose misty clearing clouds. Very nice.

Wonderful feeling of openness, Mark - really makes you want to follow the trail to wherever it might lead.  Apart from the perspective, I love the subdued tonality with its cool tones above and warm below
