Frostbitten (+1)
by scott lanz
Stopped by the local public garden on my way to work on a frosty morning a couple weeks ago and shot a few leafscapes, including this one of cinquefoil leaves mixed with others. Suggestions, critiques, questions, and other comments welcome. D600, 150 sigma macro, f25, 1/6, iso 200.

25 commentsEvery once in a while I'll pull out the description of "kaleidoscope." That is perfectly fitting here with all the color and variety of leaves, shapes and levels of frost. This is Fantastic! I love this image.
While I might agree on a slightly brighter presentation, if it were mine, I would take your repost and work over it with some burning down of some areas - or at least mask out some of the increased exposure you added. Specifically the curled, pale-green leaves just near dead center. I think those leaves in particular (and same leaves throughout) are now a bit too bright, almost over bright.
I like the pop and clarity of the repost, but at least for me there are many spots that could be set back to original.
No doubt you've got a winner to play around with.

Wow. Fantastic image. Repost looks great.
This image is wonderful to take in with the vibrant colors. The hints of frost really add a beautiful element to the scene, and you have masterfully composed the image. Excellent work in photography!!!!!!!!!!
oh the repost is great with the added pop
You composed a wonderful photo. The patterns of the leaves is mesmerizing and the frost is like delicious icing. I do like the repost better. Its richer and makes the leaves standout in 3d-esque sort ot way. Well done Sir.
Well seen and presented, my vote is for the re-post, just lovely . . .
