Spotted this male displaying in a small opening in a tree grove.  There seemed to be no other turkeys in sight male or female.  He soon stopped his display and walked back into the trees.

Canon T3i
1/640 @ F-6.3 ISO 400
Sigma 150-500 @ 500mm
HH or maybe monopod, don't remember.

HI John,

I like your first Tom image better than this one.  The point of focus is fine for the wing, but the head appears soft. Comp is good..............Jim

Good catch on the display, John.  He's also well placed in the frame.  This is a situation where using a higher iso and a smaller f-stop would be good.

Gotta practice your moves, John, if you're gonna attract the ladies.  Wonderful display.  Someday I've got to see it.  I agree that a bit more dof would be nice, but the head isn't really that soft.

John,

nice behaviour photo and the subject is well isolated from the background. Just a hint, it may need some more sharpening.
