Shenanigans & Repost
by Dennis Plank
On my part, that is. This is actually a focus stack of two successive frames. I was lucky enough that the Western Bluebirds were holding still and I had focused on the male in the first frame, then shifted to focus on the female. Stacking was done using the simple functionality provided in Photoshop CS6, and I only had to clean up a tiny bit above the female's head. This is another from the ancient history of 20 months ago.
1D4, 500mm f4 ISL + 2.0 TC, Jobu Gimbal on RRS legs, f/10, 1/1000, iso 500, aperture priority, pattern metering, -1/3EV. Processed in LR5 & CS6 (see above), a couple of oof twigs removed, cropped to 10.1 Mpixels. Originals taken at 7:12 am on April 14, 2014 in our front yard.
I appreciate your comments on the sparrow post and look forward to your input on this image.
