REPOST Good Morning Moran

A beautiful Morning to be Alive and taking in Mt Moran. The fog was crazy, and it would come and go hiding and revealing the valley below. I was able to capture this image while the fog reveled the valley and the sun illuminated the mountain.  About five minutes later, the fog completed moved in and you could not see anything from this elevation.

Canon 70d, 24-105, soft 3 stop GND, f/11, iso 200, 1/15th, tripod and shutter release processed in Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom CC.

Thank for making some time to have a look and leave a comment if you so may choose cool

This is a wonderful image, Ryan.  I love the warm tones on the mountain contrasting with the cool fog, the layers of trees and fog.  Very nice.  The sky has a rather cyan hue, but it seems natural to me and adds to the warmth I find pleasing.
Thanks for sharing this.

Ryan,

I can only imagine the adrenaline flowing this morning. To be witness to such a grand landscape and have that fog ebb and flow before your eyes... wish I was there!

Hard to critique or find any faults here.  If I was to suggest anything, perhaps just a small crop off the bottom.  the only reason I suggest is because the trees provide a solid base, I just don't thinkwe need so much of them.  Very minor suggestions.

This is gorgeous!

Ryan, I really appreciate and enjoy the balance between the upper and lower part of your image. The trees in the midground, separated by the fog, just make the difference for me.

Excellent, Ryan. Like Peter, I find the trees in the mid-ground to be an outstanding element. Like Marylynne, my immediate impression was that the sky was too cyan, and the image a bit blue overall, so I might try adjusting the color a bit. Certainly a glorious morning and a beautiful image of Mt. Moran.

Very evocative mood; great stuff here, Ryan. I really like the way you managed to fill the image with all these wonderful layers. Looks like a perfect way to start the day as this had to be awesome to witness in person. My only suggestion would be to back off the cyan just a bit; just my opinion of course as you were there.

You have two very strong elements in this one, and they cooperate perfectly to a splendid view. Both the lower part and the upper part are strong enough to work on their own, but this combination makes it even better! That must have been a great sight....

Excellent. The colors are natural, and the image has a nice tridimensionality. A beautiful morning shooting!

Ryan,
Beautiful layers, great capture. Only suggestion would be to experiment with reducing the cyan cast from the sky as mentioned previously.

What a morning you captured, Ryan.  Love this image.  I am in agreement with backing off the blues a bit, but really, really nice. Mystical.

Really nice work here, Ryan! I like this comp and the light is wonderful. The midground fog and trees adds a great look to this image. I like it alot! Maybe just a bit less cyan in the upper part of the sky but that is it for me. Nice work capturing this beautiful scene.

What a beautiful dramatic morning. I would go along with Lon's crop suggestion, but minor. Sweet image.

An interesting depiction of two different climates.  In some way it reminds me of looking out the window of an airplane, taking off from a wintery Western location and bursting through the cloud layer to the sun above.  The weather changes very quickly in the Rockies.  This is a nice photo.

Very nicely composed!  It's always exciting and rewarding to be in the right place at the right time to capture a wonderful image during changing conditions.  I agree with comments concerning the cyan cast, especially noticeable to me in the sky at the top.  I also agree with Lon's suggestion to crop the bottom a little.  I'd suggest going with a 4:5 ratio.  I think that still leaves plenty of trees in the foreground to anchor the image.

Your repost really works for me, Ryan. Now my attention is first drawn to the glowing summit, then changes to the details of the foreground trees an finally to the summit again. Great work in my opinion.
