I was scouting shooting locations for Operation Migration (
http://operationmigration.org/ ) who's migratory route this year, for the first time, brings them for a lay over in my Mother's home town of Ft Gaines Georgia. I have been commissioned by the area newspaper, The Southern Tribune in Cuthbert Georgia, to cover the event with pictures and an article. This years Whooping Cranes are having a slow migration due to bad weather and are currently in Hardin County Tennessee. This image was taken on the Lake Eufaula damn causeway.
As you can see this is a well used perch for the Turkey Vultures and it appears that their poop is quite caustic from the lettering on the sign. I liked the way this guy gave me that 'I Didn't Do It' look. Hand held, heavy overcast conditions, cropped to vertical at 60% of full frame.
