Floodplains at Dusk

This image was taken last weekend at dusk in the floodplains of Morava, a river in eastern Austria at the Slovakian. border. The mixture of elements and the subdued colors were amazing to me.

Comments and critique are welcome.

Absolutely wonderful. You do this type of image so well and I'm more impressed with each one. The natural color is very appealing for me and the feeling that comes from this says alot about your photography vison and skills. This composition is flawless in my mind. Fantastic work Peter! devil

The soft array of brownish tones interrupted by ocassional flashes of green are very nice.  This is a well composed and peaceful image.

Peter,

I am loving and enjoying this tremendously.  there is much to appreciate and enjoy. what comes to mind initially is the contrast between the monochrome colors up top, versus the array of scattered, yet subdued colors throughout the field of grass.  The tree is just a great anchor to the scene.

Beautifully seen and photographed.

I am really liking the mood and details in this woodlland scene, Peter. It is subdued, but beautiful in it's own way. I really like the placement of the tree in the image. Beautifully done.

This image has a very primordial mood to it.  The light is muted and the tones are subtle, yet the composition is powerful and emotive.  Well done!

I do enjoy these type of images. You've  really captured pre winter tonal balance. I like the scraggly textured background and the lighter tone grasses, the foreground mixture of leafs, fresh shoots and dry flowers/seed heads balances out the other layers.  The tree seems just right and well planted in the photo.     Very nice work, Peter.

Peter,

I also like the monochromatic coloring which emphasizes the mood and it is typical for the season.

Such a nice photo! I like the fairy tale look of the trees in the background a lot. No nits!

This is a beautiful look at the subtle details of a winter meadow, especially in the grasses, Peter.  Funny, I was thinking this was oversharpened in the small version, but that feeling goes away in the larger version.  The scattered colors mixed in with the seed heads makes an outstanding froeground and that single tree anchors the middle ground very well.  An outstanding image.

You achieved a very quiet and peaceful beauty in this image that is very hard to do.  Wonderful photograph.  Love it.
