Glad to be back; it has been awhile. This is from a trip my brother and I took to Acadia this past October. The fall colors were pretty nice tthis year; much better than the past few for sure. This particular image is of a section of shoreline along Eagle Lake. I hope you do not get bored with images from Acadia as we came away with quite a few keepers.

Thanks for taking aa look and leaving a comment or suggestion.

This is an great collection of colors, Ed.  I sure do like how they shift from bottom to top, with the grass at the bottom adding good color and a nice change of shape/texture.  Everything seems a bit soft, which I assume is due to wind and slow ss.  That adds a touch of abstractness to this, although I'm having mixed feelings about whether I'd like more of less of that effect.

Ed, You sure did find some great color on this trip. I think this comp works well and the grass at the bottom is a nice touch. Images like this always let me know why I enjoy the fall season so much.

Beautiful Ed!  I love the color as well as the variety and distribution of that color.  The frame is just filled beautifully, including just enough grass at the bottom.

I like this very much as presented.  My only comment might be an alternative suggestions.  To me this is ever so slightly bright, but also lacks a little midtone contrast.  This may be just exactly how you intended and it works for me.  Just wondering what some tweaking in contrast and brightness might do for you.

This is certainly a beautiful autumn scene!

Looks like you found some nice colors during your trip. Very well balanced and the mix of greens with the reds and yells is a sweet contrast.  The overall image seems to have a slightly warm cast, which may have been your intention.  I might suggest adjusting the shadows a little to more cyan or blue - might make the colors pop more without needing to mess with sat.  This might also create added perception of depth.  Look forward to more - never have made it to Acadia so hope you will give me some inspiration and ideassad

Yes ... while the colors and your composition are very appealing, I too think that the image looks slightly flat, and that some tweaking of the brightness and contrast would diminish this appearance.

Thanks for the input, folks. Here is a repost with your suggestions of a bit more contrast and sharpening along with some warmth taken out.

Pretty hard to get bored with images like this, Ed.  Love the addition of the fore grasses and the layer of vivid green.  Very nice, good to see your work and hear from you again.:)

There are most appealing layers for me from bottom to top in this image. Your second version indeed works better to my eye, mainly due to more details in the foreground grasses that draw my attention back from the foliage and keep me exploring the whole composition.

Beautifully composed, Ed, with that charming glimpse of the fg grasses setting off the rich autumnal colours perfectly. The slight softness adds to the tapestry-like feel of the image.

Alrighty, I had some small suggestions, but they are fixed in the repo, which looks absolutely amazing. In my world, this qualifies for way more than "pretty" nice, haha. This is gorgeous!

Hi Ed,

This is just a beautiful display of fall color. The Brown grasses at the bottom of the frame anchor the scene nicely, and the fall colors are a treat.  The vertical of the tree trunks provide structure to the image, and I feel just darn happy enjoying this image.

Oh Wait, the repost is really nice, and nice job and the slight tweaks Ed!!!
