...for dinner?  Looking through old images for this week's "Weekly Challenge" (upland gamebirds for those of you who don't follow it), I ran across a set of images taken at Bullard Beach, an Oregon state park, on the coast last year.  We were wandering through our campground when this wild turkey strolled across the road.  The full length images have the road in the bg, but I managed to find a more compatible bg with a head shot.

7D, 300mm f4 ISL + 1.4TC, hand held, f/5.6, 1/400, iso 500 aperture priority, pattern metering, -1/3 stop compensation.  Processed in LR5 & CS6.  Cropped from the sides (mostly the right) for a 4x5 aspect ratio-full height.  Taken September 17th, 2014 at 8:48 am.

I appreciate your comments on the Doves and look forward to your input on this image.

Thanks

Dennis,

technically well done, great sharpness and details. The smooth background is also very nice. I find that making portraits of birds is rather dificult and because of that I do not make many of them. I would have liked a type of action, like open bill / beak or so, to make it a bit more interesting.

A fun image, Dennis. You have to wonder if anyone but her mama thinks she is attractive.

Nice portrait of this turkey Dennis. I love all the textures in their heads and obviously portraits really show that off. Nice job!
