Icescape I

As I've mentioned, there was an abundance of water in the washes throughout the eastern region of Zion in late October and early November this year.  And during the second week of November there were several nights of sub-freezing low temperatures, resulting in fantastic and enjoyable opportunities to photograph ice to an extent which I personally have never witnessed or taken advantage of in Zion before.  (I've never been to Zion in winter.)  I've already posted a few compositions.  I'll be posting a series of "icescape" microcosms now.

Jim,

I LOVE this stuff and am envious of the opportunity, but will appreciate your results!  Wonderful, graceful design of lines and curves with a structure that almost resembles the veins of a tree leaf.  No nits or suggestions.

Looking forward to more!

Is this caused by a succession freezing and warming while the water slowly recedes? Whatever the cause, the image is just great. A lot of rhythm along a strong diagonal with a few irregularities at the top and bottom to prevent it from infinitely going on. The grayish blue is marvelous. Can't wait for the other images in your series of icescapes.
