This one from Falcon State Park in Texas the day I arrived there.  I liked the over-the-shoulder pose and the setting.

7D2, 300mm f4 ISL + 1.4TC, hand held (I think), f/8, 1/200, iso 1000, aperture priority, center-weighted average metering with + 2/3 stop compensation.  Processed in LR5 & CS6.  Cropped to 16.6 Mpixels.  Taken February 28th at 1:01 pm under cloudy skies.

I appreciate your comments and criticisms on my previous images and look forward to your input on this one.

Thanks,

I like the sharpness of the eye.  I think it could be just a bit darker overall.  Also, I think the colors of the sprouts/leaves make the BG less distracting then just bare twigs and branches, such as in my jay photo.  Thanks for sharing.

Dennis,

this I like very much and is an good example that a busy background can add a lot of interest to the image if the subject stands out well, which is the case here since there is a very good eye contact for the viewer.

Very nice. My only comment would be to darken it a bit.

Hello Dennis, I like the image as posted. Making it darker would make the background more prominent and hence distracting I would guess. Love the bird's pose as well with the head turn ! Cheers, Hans
