Hi Davd, normally 1/250 or less is ideal to capture the spray or 'rain' drops, any faster and it's lost, but this works really well, the vivid green is a fantastic backdrop to set the subject against, pretty neat. A channel Curves adjustment would address the brighter whites in the LH wing and bring some more detail/tonal range back I feel and just bolster the depth.

Great shot, Dave.  The shake comes across very well and it's amazing how nice and still the head and wings are.

Love the action in this one David. The flying water is awesome and I think the center comp really works for this type of image. Nice work.

David, what a unique image! Everything from the bird's expression to the flying water drops. A winner!

I love bird portraits but action shots always trump the former, and this one's really well done. Perfect shutter speed to freeze the bird and allow just a hint of blur in the water drops. Kudos.

Love this David, the shutter speed worked out about perfectly to both freeze the action enough and show motion at the same time, unique shot and pose, congrats.  devil
