The Keyhole
by Patrick O'Healy
November 15, 2015 It rained briefly that afternoon here in Newport Beach, California. I looked out our bedroom window and saw promising clouds. I hopped into the car and raced down to Newport Pier where it was low tide. In a location that usually has a raft of photographers I was the only one there. There was a short time window for a shot and the first few shots I got looked as if I were photographing a keyhole. The sky was vivid for about 20 minutes and when the sun was down, it was all over. Catalina Island is visible in the background.
Nikon D800 Nikkor 16-35 27mm ISO100 I used a Neutral Density Filter for this shot. 2.0 f/18 RAW White Balance Auto Processed in LightroomCC2015, PhotoshopCC2015, NIK and TK.

6 commentsDon't we all see images in nature differently? For me, the center of the photo is the keyhole tipped 90 degrees. The dark sky and the reflection of it are the elements of the door. I hope someone besides me sees it. It could be back to the psychologist for me.
thanks for your positive feedback.
